Explosions target security forces in southern Thailand, many injured
At least 8 security personnel injured in 3 different explosions in Narathiwat province
ANKARA
Several security personnel were targeted in three roadside improvised explosive devices (IED) explosions in southern Thailand on Friday.
The explosions took place in the Su-ngai Padi district of the Narathiwat province, leaving eight security personnel injured, including five paramilitary rangers and three police officers, Thai PBS reported.
The first explosion took place in the morning on a road in the Rikor sub-district while a second IED detonated in another village in the same sub-district, targeting a paramilitary ranger vehicle, injuring at least five.
The third explosion occurred some 500 meters (1,640 feet) from the Border Patrol Police barracks in the Su-ngai Padi sub-district, injuring three police officers.
