Magnitude 6 earthquake shakes New Zealand's Kermadec Islands
Tremor strikes at depth of 14.3 miles, according to US Geological Survey

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck the Kermadec Islands, north of New Zealand, on Monday, according to the US Geological Survey.
The tremor occurred at a depth of 23 kilometers (14.3 miles) at 1000GMT.
No statement has yet been issued by New Zealand authorities.
