Magnitude-7.3 earthquake jolts northeastern Japan

ANKARA

A magnitude-7.3 earthquake rocked northeastern Japan on Wednesday, according to the country’s meteorological agency.

The quake occurred off the coast of Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures at 11.36 p.m. local time (1436GMT), 60 kilometers (37 miles) below the surface, said Japan Meteorology Agency.

The agency issued a tsunami warning after the earthquake.

There are no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
