The Malaysian government said Wednesday it will resume the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 which went missing in 2014 with 239 people on board, Malay Mail reported.

Malaysia’s Cabinet has approved the terms and conditions of an agreement with UK-based company Ocean Infinity, a marine robotics company, to resume the search for the missing aircraft in the southern Indian Ocean.

Malaysia’s Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook stated that the country remains committed to resuming the search operations.

The Ministry of Transport will sign the agreement with Ocean Infinity on behalf of the Malaysian government after receiving approval from the Cabinet.

The search will cover an area of approximately 15,000 square kilometers in the southern Indian Ocean, and the company will receive $70 million if the wreckage of the plane is found.

In 2018, Ocean Infinity searched for the flight MH370 that went missing while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board, ending the search without finding the aircraft.
