President Benigno Aquino III has ordered an investigation into an alleged extortion racket involving the planting of bullets in baggage at the capital's international airport.
The racket -- known locally as "laglag bala" (plant bullet) -- is reported to have targeted tourists and Filipino overseas workers departing and arriving at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
As baggage goes through customs, "bullets" are reported to have mysteriously found their way inside, thus leaving the owner with a large fine.
