South Korean president arrives in Kazakhstan on 2nd leg of Central Asia tour
Yoon Suk-yeol expected to hold talks with Kazakh counterpart, sign memorandum of understanding to deepen strategic partnership
ISTANBUL
South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol on Tuesday arrived in Kazakhstan as part of the second leg of his Central Asia tour that began on Monday.
Kazakh news channel Khabar 24 reported Yoon’s arrival in capital Astana, where he was greeted by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.
Yoon will meet his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Wednesday, after which they will sign a memorandum of understanding to deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries, according to Yonhap news.
Yoon embarked on a six-day Central Asia tour, which began with a visit to Turkmenistan. He will also head to neighboring Uzbekistan to hold talks with Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
