South Korea's Constitutional Court to decide on Yoon's impeachment on April 4
Court will rule on whether to formally dismiss or reinstate Yoon, who was impeached by parliament on Dec. 14 following his attempt to impose martial law

WASHINGTON
South Korea's Constitutional Court said Monday that it will deliver a decision on President Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment on April 4.
The court will rule on whether to formally dismiss or reinstate Yoon, who was impeached by parliament on Dec. 14 following his failed attempt to impose martial law on Dec. 3.
If the court upholds the impeachment, Yoon will be removed from office, and if the impeachment is dismissed or rejected, he will immediately return to his duties.
An impeachment decision requires the approval of at least six out of eight sitting justices, according to the Seoul-based Yonhap News Agency.
"On the day of the sentencing, live broadcasting by broadcasters and public attendance will be permitted," the court said.
