Strong tremors shock Philippines, Tonga
No immediate report of losses following 6.6, 6 magnitude quakes
ANKARA
Strong earthquakes of 6.6 and 6 magnitude struck off Tonga and the Philippines on Wednesday, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).
At a depth of 10 kilometers (6 miles), the epicenter of earthquake was some 154 kilometers (95.6 miles) from Neiafu Tonga, the USGS said on Wednesday.
Also, a 6 magnitude earthquake hit the Luzon region of the Philippines.
No damage has been reported from either of the quakes.
Separately, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake also struck off Baubau city of the southeastern Sulawesi province in Indonesia.
