European news agencies gather in Zurich
Anadolu Agency chosen among 3 others for EANA Young Journalists Program

ZURICH, Switzerland
Anadolu Agency attended a meeting of the European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA), a journalism forum which was founded by the Türkiye-based news organization.
The meeting was held Friday in Zurich where EANA head Clemens Pig presented the association's annual report.
Serdar Karagoz, Anadolu Agency's director general and chairman of the board, said EANA members got together to share their experiences.
“All of the agencies operating in Europe are members of EANA. Anadolu Agency is also an active member of this union,” he said.
Karagoz further said a membership vote was held at the meeting and KosovoPress was accepted with the backing of Anadolu Agency.
However, Armenpress from Armenia was denied membership, he added.
"We proposed to the General Assembly that the EANA summit be held in Istanbul in 2024. We are gradually improving Anadolu Agency's international efficacy," he said.
Anadolu Agency was chosen as one of three agencies for the EANA Young Journalists Program.
Representatives from various news organizations discussed their initiatives and accomplishments at the event.
Suzana Rakovica, general director of KosovoPress, expressed her happiness at becoming part of EANA.
Rakovica praised Anadolu Agency for its assistance with the membership process, adding that they work closely with the Türkiye-based news agency in numerous European nations.
