Anadolu Agency (AA) has started talks to cooperate with Getty Images on video distribution after an agreement on photograph distribution in August, 2013.
The Anadolu Agency signed a partnership deal with stock photo agency Getty Images which allows the AA's photo content to have a larger global distribution network, while boosting the agency's profile.
AA Deputy Director General Cagatay Culcuoglu held talks in New York to contribute the agency's 2020 global vision and met with photograph and video directors of Getty Images in a bid to add a new ring into the global cooperation between the two companies.
Culcuoglu said said AA and Getty Images reached an agreement to conduct efforts concerning photo, video and multimedia news services at a meeting with Getty Images' executives.
"The previous agreement with the Getty Images on photograph distribution has increased AA's global strength and brand value," pointed out Culcuoglu.
Director of Photography Francisco Bernasconi of Getty Images expressed his pleasure for partnership agreement with AA, adding they were influenced by the achivements of AA and the USA and the major media organs frequently prefer to use the AA photos.
AA photos have international standards and global media institutes follow them, stated Bernasconi.
The deputy director also paid a visit to the Japanese TV channel Fuji TV's Manhattan office and held A meeting with officials, introducing Anadolu Agency (AA).
During the meeting, Chiyoko Nakamoto, Fuji TV's director in New York, said they have problems in reaching news centers in the Middle East, adding they could have cooperation with AA in the Middle East, Africa and the regions where they cannot reach.
Culcuoglu also met with Halit Cevik, the permanent representative of Turkey to the United Nations (UN), and informed him about AA's news gathering activities in four languages in UN.
Culcuoglu discussed Turkey's nomination into UN Security Council in 2015 with Cevik, underscoring AA is ready to provide all kind of contribution during this process.
