A top Turkish TV series is now delighting audiences half a world away, in Venezuela.
Dirilis Ertugrul (Resurrection: Ertugrul), a historical drama about the founder of the Ottoman Empire, is being screened on Venezuelan state channel TVes.
In addition to being aired on Turkish national broadcaster TRT, Ertugrul -- the channel's most popular TV series to date -- is being shown in over 70 countries worldwide.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro's admiration for the Turkish series came up when Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu visited the South American country in September.
During their meeting in the capital Caracas, Maduro said that he would take steps to get the Turkish TV show on the air in Venezuela.
