The 11th Bosphorus Film Festival, organized by the Bosphorus Culture and Arts Foundation with Anadolu Agency as its Global Communications Partner, will welcome cinema enthusiasts from Dec. 8-16.
Applications for the national and international film competitions within the festival, supported by the General Directorate of Cinema under Türkiye’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, have been extended until Nov. 24, according to a statement by the foundation.
Applications can be made by filling out the forms on the festival's website.
The festival, which will host screenings of selected examples from Turkish and world cinema as well as masterclasses and discussions, will award the grand prize to the Best Film in the National Feature Film Competition, in addition to the “Golden Dolphin,” with a prize of 200,000 Turkish lira ($7,000)
Following the jury evaluations, awards will be presented in the categories of Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Cinematographer and Best Editing.
Samed Karagoz, the festival’s artistic director, said in the statement that their support for cinema will continue to increase and they have increased the prize amounts in all competition categories.
In addition to category awards, the national competition will also feature the Best First Film Award supported by Akli Film with a cash prize and the FIYAB Best Producer Award supported by the Film Producers' Professional Association (FIYAB).
