ANKARA
Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,550.24 points on Friday, down 0.26% or 6.57 points, from its previous close.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 1.22% to close at 2,556.81 points on Thursday, hitting a new record-high close with a daily trading volume of over 47.6 billion Turkish liras (approximately $3.2 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 14.7222 at 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT), up from 14.7030 at Thursday's close.
The euro/lira exchange rate went down to 15.9265 from 15.9820, while the British pound traded for 19.0730 Turkish liras, down from 19.2370 at the previous close.
Brent crude oil was sold for around $107.5, down 0.74% per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time.
