ANKARA
Economic sentiment and expectations declined in the EU and the euro area in April, according to a European Commission report released on Monday.
The economic sentiment indicator in April declined in the EU by 1.7 points to 104.9, and it also fell in the euro area by 1.7 points to 105.0.
The employment expectations indicator decreased one point to 111.7 in the EU and it declined 1.1 point to 112.4 in the euro area.
"The decline in consumer confidence resulted from marked decreases in households’ assessments of their own past financial situation and their intentions to make major purchases," the report said.
