ANKARA
The International Energy and Environment Fair and Conference presented its energy awards at a ceremony which was attended by Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz in Ankara Monday.
A total of 46 projects were submitted for the ICCI energy awards in 2014. With eight energy awards and three jury special awards, participants were recognized for their contribution to Turkey's energy sector.
The awards were sponsored by The Anadolu Agency.
Anadolu Agency's Energy News Desk Editor Firat Gazel was also honored with an award.
The awards were given in wind, hydroelectric, geothermal, biomass, waste and solar power fields in the “Renewable Energy Power Generation” category. Natural gas, coal and residual heat projects competed in the “Thermal Power Generation” category.
The jury also honored fossil fuel plants and energy efficiency projects at the event in the JW Marriott Hotel.
Besides Yildiz, academic and non-governmental organization representatives and professionals from the energy sector attended the ceremony.
