Germany's unemployment rate at 2.7% in May
Country's employment exceeds pre-pandemic level, official data show
ISTANBUL
Germany's unemployment rate was 2.7% in May, official data revealed on Thursday.
Some 1.2 million people were unemployed in the country as of last month, down by 24.4% or 385,000 people, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) said.
"Roughly 45.4 million people resident in Germany were in employment in May 2022," it added.
The employment exceeded the pre-pandemic level by over 100,000 people, according to Destatis.
