Karmod completes production of prefabricated buildings for Chilean gold mine site
Prefabricated camp buildings for the project were completed in just four days

Turkish prefabricated construction company Karmod has completed the production of prefabricated buildings for a gold mine site in Chile, South America, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
The 1,000 square-meter camp structures were manufactured and are now en route to the construction site located near the Chilean capital, Santiago, according to the statement.
Karmod's Foreign Trade Manager Ziya Yanik said that the prefabricated camp buildings for this project were completed in just four days using a next-generation building system.
"We are producing prefabricated buildings with high ergonomics, from dormitories to offices, providing comfortable accommodation and working spaces for site workers,” Yanik said.
It is the second completed gold mining camp in Chile. In 2018, Karmod constructed prefabricated camp buildings for another mining project in eastern Chile's Andes Mountains foothills.
Yanik also said that these modular camp structures are easy to erect on-site.
"Our technical office at Karmod has developed solutions to speed up the installation of our prefabricated camp structures. We have integrated these technical solutions into our production processes,” he added.
“Even in distant countries, our customers can easily carry out the installation themselves. The installation of the four prefabricated camp buildings for this project will be conducted by our customer’s teams," Yanik explained.
The prefabricated buildings produced for the gold mine camp site near Santiago include dormitories, a canteen, a blue-collar changing room, and a management office building.
The wall insulation incorporates rock wool insulation material between special panels to ensure complete fire safety.
The dormitory building has a total area of 388 square meters. The canteen, which includes a cooking area, serving counter, and dining hall, covers 185 square meters.
The 297 square meter office building includes working rooms for the gold mine site management and technical personnel, with a section designated for a laboratory. The 130 square meter changing room building is equipped with rest rooms and shower units.
