Nasdaq closes at new record high

NEW YORK

The U.S. stock market closed mixed on Monday.

The Dow fell 66 points to finish the day at 21,513, and the S&P 500 lost two points to 2,469.

The Nasdaq decreased 23 points to end trading at 6,410 -- a new high.

Rise in tech companies' stocks helped Nasdaq to finish the day with gains.

E-commerce firm Amazon saw its stock price increase 1.3 percent, while tech company Apple shares increased 1.2 percent Monday.
