A Turkish ro-ro ship and a ferry boat will begin trips between Turkey's Mersin and Lebanon's Tripoli ports in June.
The ships belong to two private Turkish maritime companies and will carry motor vehicles and passengers.
The Turkish companies' decision to begin trips came after the governments of Turkey and Lebanon recently held talks for such trips after violent clashes in Syria that negatively affected transportation through Syria.
The ferry boat "Azzurra" of Fergun Company will hold its first trip from Mersin to Lebanon on June 11.
The "Azzurra" has a passenger capacity of 700 and can accommodate up to 170 automobiles, 25 trucks or 18 semi-trailer trucks.
The ro-ro ship "Mersin Ro-Ro" of Akgun Company will travel from Mersin to Lebanon once a week and will carry semi-trailer trucks as well as passengers.
