Turkey's Borsa Istanbul looking up at weekly open

ANKARA

Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,471.61 points on Monday, up 0.20% or 2.94 points from the previous close.

At last week’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was down 0.71% to 1,468.67 points, with a daily trading volume of 12.2 billion Turkish liras ($1.5 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 8.2890 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, from 8.2940 on Friday.

One euro traded for 9.8580 Turkish liras, versus 9.8590 at the previous close. The British pound/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 11.5120, down from 11.5240.

One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for around $71.73 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).​​​​​​​
