Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Monday at 8,862.49 points, falling 0.25% or 22.51 points from the previous close.

On Friday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 0.24% to 8,885.00 points, with a daily transaction volume of 76 billion Turkish liras ($2.22 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 34.3085 as of 09.57 a.m. (0657GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 37.4083, and the GBP/TRY traded at 44.6059.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,749.30 and the price of Brent crude oil was around $74.34 per barrel.
