Turkish stock exchange flat at Friday open
Benchmark index marginally gains 5.40 points at opening session
ANKARA
Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Friday at 7,786.08 points, a slight rise of 0.07%, or 5.40 points, from the previous close.
On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed at 7,780.68 points, up 1.50%, with a daily trading volume of 76 billion liras ($2.64 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.7174 as of 10.02 a.m. local time (0702GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 31.1545, while a British pound traded for 35.5964 liras.
Brent crude oil was selling for around $77.48 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,985.95.
