The Turkish benchmark stock index closed the week at 8,885.00 points on Friday, up by 0.24% from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index earned 21.12 points from Thursday’s close.

The lowest value of the index for the day was 8,849.18, while its daily high was 8,982.03.

Some 52 indexes increased in value, while 46 declined at the end of the day.

The total transaction volume reached 76 billion Turkish liras ($2.22 billion), while the overall value of the index was 7.75 trillion liras ($226.8 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 34.3380 as of 7.05 p.m. local time (1605GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 37.3050, while the GBP/TRY traded at 44.5075.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,755.50, while the barrel price of Brent oil was around $73.80.
