ANKARA

Turkey's benchmark stock index closed at 1,459.33 points on Monday, up 1.02% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 1,454.91 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 14.70 points from Friday's close of 1,444.63 points.

On a weekly basis, the benchmark index posted a decline of 0.21% last week.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,788.40 by market close, down from $1,786.40 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $68.32 per barrel, a rise of 5.51% as of 6:00 p.m. local time (1500GMT).
