Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended on Wednesday at 12,122.94 points, down 2.03% from the previous close.
Starting the third transaction day of the week at 12,389.72 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 251.32 points from Tuesday's close.
The index's lowest value during the day was 12,048.47, while the highest was 12,389.72.
The total market value of BIST 100 was around 11.89 trillion Turkish liras ($242.36 billion), with a daily trading volume of 113.5 billion Turkish liras ($2.3 billion).
During the day, 75 stocks on the index fell and 23 rose, compared to the previous close.
The price of an ounce of gold was $4,107.65, while Brent crude oil futures sold for around $101.14 per barrel as of 6.40 pm local time (1540GMT).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 49.1970, the euro/lira 55.0840, and the British pound traded at 65.0365 liras.
