Budget revenues total $163.8B, while spending was $194B in 8-month period, according to Treasury and Finance Ministry data

Türkiye's budget runs deficit of $30.2B in January-August

ISTANBUL

Türkiye's budget deficit was at 973.55 billion Turkish liras ($30.2 billion) during the first eight months of 2024, according to the Treasury and Finance Ministry data released on Monday.

The budget revenues were at 5.25 trillion Turkish liras ($163.8 billion) in the January-August period, while expenditures totaled 6.22 trillion liras ($194 billion).


Non-interest budget balance posted a deficit of 209.5 billion liras ($6.5 billion) in the same period.

Interest payments amounted to 764 billion liras ($23.83 billion) from January to August.

The USD/TRY exchange rate was at 32.05 on average during the January-August period.
