NEW YORK
The stock market opened lower on Friday.
The Dow fell 40 points to begin the last trading day of the week at 21,357 points.
The S&P lost less than a point to start the day at 2,434 points, and the Nasdaq was down almost two points at 6,234 points.
The market and investors are keeping an eye on speeches by Federal Reserve members later Friday.
