ANKARA
US stocks opened mixed Tuesday.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 220 points, or 0.6%, to 36,805 at 9.46 a.m. EDT. The S&P 500 added 17 points, or 0.37%, to 4,814.
The Nasdaq, on the other hand, fell 10, or 0.07%, 15,823.
The VIX volatility index was down 2.2% to 16.83.
The dollar index was slightly up adding 0.14% to 96.35, while the yield on 10-year US Treasury notes rose 2.4% to 1.670%.
Precious metals were up, with gold losing 0.5% to $1,810 per ounce and silver increasing 0.6% to $23.03.
Crude prices gained more than 1.8% each with Brent crude trading at $80.43 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate at $77.50.
