ROME
A 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck the Marche region in central Italy hours after a 5.4-magnitude tremor hit the same region late Wednesday.
No fatalities have been reported.
The second quake occurred in the city of Macerata y at 9.18 p.m. local time (1918GMT) and was felt in the Umbria, Marche Lazio regions.
The province is located 233 kilometers (145 miles) northeast of the capital, Rome.
Italian channel Rai News 24 said power went out at the epicenter of the earthquake, Castel , leaving the city in the dark. Buildings across the region have been damaged.
