Russian forces hit 86 Ukrainian military targets in overnight operations, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday.

The targets included two control centers, two ammunition depots, three fuel depots, three multiple rocket launchers and 49 strong points and areas of concentration of Ukrainian military equipment, ministry spokesperson Igor Konashenkov said at a daily briefing in Moscow.

Russian air defense systems also downed eight unmanned aerial vehicles, while high-precision missiles destroyed an S-300 air defense system, he added.

“Last night, high-precision sea-based missiles destroyed the headquarters and base of Dnepr nationalist battalion in Zvonetskoe, Dnepropetrovsk Region, where foreign mercenaries had recently arrived,” read a transcript of Konashenkov’s briefing.

Russian forces have destroyed 127 aircraft, 98 helicopters, 234 S-300, Buk-M1, Osa AKM air defense systems, 436 unmanned aerial vehicles, 2,052 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 232 multiple rocket launchers, 894 field artillery guns and mortars, as well as 1,975 special military vehicles, the official added.

The civilian death toll in the Russia-Ukraine war has climbed to 1,793, with 2,439 more people injured since Feb. 24, according to UN estimates, with the true figure feared to be much higher.

More than 4.5 million Ukrainians have now fled to other countries, with millions more internally displaced, according to the UN refugee agency.
