Belgium’s Flemish region will open its doors for qualified migrants as of New Year, the Flemish minister for employment said on Friday.
Philippe Muyters told reporters that they were going to ease the process for qualified migrants for their employment in the Flemish region for about 20 fields of work as of Jan. 1.
Muyters said the region’s population is inadequate for different branches of work, including nurses, technicians, crane operators, butchers and chefs.
“Providing this type of economic migration is essential for our economic growth,” he added.
