The chairman of the Council of Ministers in Bosnia and Herzegovina welcomed Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim's visit to his country scheduled for March 29-30.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Denis Zvizdic evaluated the importance of Yildirim's visit, saying the visit indicates good relations between the two countries.

“The economy will be the main focus of the visit. We will present the opportunities we have in our country to future investors from Turkey,” said Zvizdic.

The current trade volume between the two countries is around $650 million. "Our goal is to reach $1 billion level at the end of 2019," said Zvizdic.

Turkey and Bosnia also have good relations in various sectors -- including culture, education, science, research and experience sharing.

"NATO member Turkey's support for Bosnia and Herzegovina's path to NATO membership carries great meaning," he said.

Zvizdic said Turkey has always been attentive and helpful towards Bosnia and Herzegovina with respect to its territorial integrity.

He said that Bosnia has great investment opportunities in the energy field and the relevant institutions have prepared presentations in this regard.

"The coal production, in particular, can be exciting for the investors. Tourism sector is also important because a lot of tourists come to our country from Turkey," said Zvizdic.

Zvizdic believes that the new projects have played a major role to achieve peace and stability in the region.
