Burglars broke into Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini's house in Rome, local media reported on Monday.
The intruders were unable to breach the safe in Salvini's dwelling but it remains unknown whether they stole other items, said state-run news agency ANSA, noting that nobody was present in the house when the incident took place.
Police are conducting an investigation into the incident to uncover related details and possible perpetrators, it added.
