England defender Eric Dier joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.

"FC Bayern have signed Eric Dier from Tottenham Hotspur on a deal until 30 June 2024, with the option for a further year," the German powerhouse said in a statement.

Completing his move to Bayern Munich, Dier said that his dreams have come true.

"This move is a dream come true for me, because as a child, you want to play for a club like Bayern one day. Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world and has an incredible history," the 29-year-old said, adding he is looking forward to meeting his new teammates and Bayern Munich fans at the club's home ground, Allianz Arena.

Dier was a longtime Tottenham Hotspur member to play 365 matches and score 13 goals for Spurs.

The English player is also a Portugal citizen as Dier came through Sporting Lisbon's youth academy and played for Sporting's senior team before making his way to England.

Dier piled up 49 international caps for England, representing the Three Lions at the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups, as well as the EURO 2016.
