A Tuesday meeting between Turkey's president and the Greek prime minister has been given wide coverage in Greek media.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Alexis Tsipras met in the Turkish capital Ankara.

Most Greek news outlets reported Wednesday there were "no concrete results" from the meeting but the important aspect was the restart of bilateral relations on a positive note.

Kathimerini newspaper said that the meeting came on the heels of Turkey's recent decision to put bounty on fugitive Turkish ex-soldiers in Greece.

A few hours after the July 2016 defeated coup to overthrow the Turkish government, eight ex-military personnel arrived in Greece on a hijacked Black Hawk helicopter and requested asylum.

Turkey immediately issued an extradition request, which was eventually declined by the Greek Supreme Court in January 2017, after a series of trials and appeals.

A 4-million-Turkish-lira (approx. $770,560) bounty was put on each of them by the Turkish Interior Ministry on Tuesday.

Naftemporiki newspaper said the two leaders agreed on decreasing tension in the Aegean Sea and improving trust-building measures.

FETO and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup on July 15, 2016, which left 251 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.
