Mission to strengthen security sector, enhance resilience to counter hybrid threats, foreign information manipulation, says EU foreign policy chief

LONDON
European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell opened a partnership mission in Moldova on Wednesday, delivering the message that the "EU stands firmly with its partners in countering threats from abroad."
"I am proud to inaugurate today in Chisinau the European Partnership Mission in Moldova. With the shared goal to ensure peace, security and stability of our citizens," he said on Twitter.
"The mission will strengthen the security sector, enhance resilience to counter hybrid threats and foreign information manipulation and with a project cell (and) provide targeted operational support to help Moldova respond in these areas," he said.
Borrell inaugurated the mission ahead of a meeting Thursday of the European Political Community (EPC), which will bring together the leaders of European countries on the continent and the heads of EU institutions in the Moldovan capital, Chisinau.
