France to distribute survival manual to all households in case of major crisis
Booklet covers armed conflicts, industrial accidents, severe weather events, cyberattacks

ISTANBUL
The French government plans to distribute survival manuals to all households in case of a crisis, according to media reports.
The manual that will be sent to residents next summer details "right actions to take in the event of an imminent threat in France,” Europe 1 reported Tuesday, citing a government source.
“The aim is to tell the French to prepare for any eventuality, not just armed conflict. Since French doctrine is based on deterrence, it would be counter-productive to focus solely on armed conflict, and to put only that in the minds of the French,” said a government official.
Along with armed conflicts, industrial accidents, severe weather events and cyberattacks are also covered in the manual, according to Le Figaro.
The manual has three main objectives including preparing for crises, developing the means to deal with them and “adapting public communication to the challenges of resilience.”
The booklet is still in the process of being validated by Prime Minister Francois Bayrou, his office told Le Figaro, adding that conditions for distribution have not yet been defined.
