ATHENS
Greece on Thursday celebrated its 200th anniversary of independence.
A military parade was held in Syntagma Square where the parliament building and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier are located in the Greek capital Athens.
The ceremony was attended by President Katerina Sakellaropoulou, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, opposition party leaders, as well as some foreign dignitaries.
Charles, the prince of Wales; and Camilla, the duchess of Cornwall, French Defense Minister Florence Parly, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Greek Cypriot administration’s leader Nicos Anastasiadis also attended the ceremony.
The military parade was broadcast live on television.
