Just Stop Oil protesters were arrested at Gatwick Airport after they blocked a departure gate, local media reported.
The environmental activist group confirmed that seven of its supporters entered the terminal.
An image shared on Just Stop Oil’s website shows the protesters sitting on the floor and blocking an entrance.
The protesters were later arrested, according to Sky News.
In a statement, Just Stop Oil said: "As long as political leaders fail to take swift and decisive action to protect our communities from the worst effects of climate breakdown, Just Stop Oil supporters, working with other groups internationally, will take the proportionate action necessary to generate much needed political pressure."
The group emphasized that this protest is part of a broader campaign targeting key areas integral to the fossil fuel economy.
"This summer, areas of key importance to the fossil fuel economy will be declared sites of civil resistance around the world," Just Stop Oil announced, indicating that a series of planned disruptions aimed at drawing attention to their cause.
