Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday that a visit by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to Russia is being planned.

"It is difficult to talk about the exact date for obvious reasons," Peskov told a news conference in Moscow, referring to ongoing tensions due to the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

As for a visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the US in November for a summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) format, he said Moscow will inform "in a timely manner" who will represent the country at the gathering.

Regarding Western sanctions against Russia, Peskov said "our economy has adapted quite well to these conditions ... we are trying to extract benefits for ourselves from this. In some ways we succeed," he said.

The spokesman assessed the visits by the French president and Hungarian prime minister to Kazakhstan as an "absolutely normal process," saying the Central Asian country is "developing ties with the European states."

As for an unsuccessful launch of the US intercontinental ballistic missile Minuteman III, the official declined to comment on the failed test, mentioning that such tests are subject to notification, and Washington informed Moscow as required by international agreements.

Peskov disagreed with a statement about a "stalemate" in the Ukraine war made by Ukrainian commander-in-chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi, saying "Russia consistently continues to conduct its 'special military operation.'"

"The Kyiv regime has long needed to understand that even talking about any prospects of the Kyiv regime's victory on the battlefield is absurd. And the sooner the Kyiv regime understands this for itself, the sooner some prospects will open up," he emphasized.

Russia launched the military campaign in Ukraine last year in February to protect Russian-speaking population, but the West sees the conflict as a "war of aggression."
