Netherlands: Shooter fires on relative, bystanders
Shooting leaves 3 killed, 5 injured in central Utrecht
BRUSSELS
A suspected shooter in the Netherlands fired upon a relative in a tram due to a family dispute, as well as others trying to intercede to defuse the situation, relatives of the shooter said Monday.
Three people were killed and five injured after Gokmen Tanis, 37, shot at tram passengers in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
Police told local media they were focusing on non-terror motives and that the attack may have happened due to a family dispute.
Security authorities said the perpetrator of the attack was still on the run.
