Qatari emir meets with German president in Berlin

Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Friday met with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier at Berlin’s presidential palace, the Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

According to QNA, the two men discussed bilateral ties and exchanged perspectives on recent political developments, especially those pertaining to the Middle East.

Steinmeier also reportedly voiced his pleasure with a meeting of the Qatar-Germany Business and Investment Forum, which is set to convene in Berlin later Friday.

Attended by government officials and businesspeople from both countries, the forum is being held under the patronage of the Qatari emir and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
