Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Friday held a meeting with Thorgerdur Katrin Gunnarsdottir, his Icelandic counterpart.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of a two-day NATO foreign ministers meeting in Brussels, said a statement shared on X by the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

No further details of the meeting were given.

Türkiye joined NATO in 1952 – over 70 years ago – while Iceland joined the alliance in 1949.
