Turkish, Ukrainian leaders discuss COVID-19 measures
Ukrainian president requests protective clothing, respirators from Turkey
ISTANBUL
The Turkish and Ukrainian presidents on Wednesday held a phone call to share their thoughts on combating coronavirus, according to an official statement.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Volodymyr Zelensky also discussed bilateral relations and regional issues, said Turkey's Communications Directorate.
Zelensky requested respirators and special protective clothing from Turkey.
After surfacing in Wuhan, China last December, coronavirus has spread to 180 countries and regions. The global death toll from COVID-19 has surpassed 46,200, with more than 921,900 cases confirmed worldwide, according to U.S.-based Johns Hopkins University.
