1 Palestinian killed, others injured by Israeli gunfire in West Bank
Israeli army raids cities of Nablus, Jerusalem in the occupied territory

RAMALLAH, Palestine / ISTANBUL
At least one Palestinian was killed and several others injured in Israeli attacks Sunday in the occupied West Bank.
The Israeli army announced that it had killed a Palestinian, claiming he attempted to carry out a car-ramming attack in the city of Nablus, adding that an Israeli was seriously injured in the incident.
A Palestinian man was wounded by Israeli army fire near a separation wall between the town of Al-Ram and occupied East Jerusalem, medics said.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society said its teams treated a 33-year-old Palestinian who was shot in his thigh by Israeli forces in Al-Ram.
The cause of the shooting is not yet clear, but the area is frequently used by Palestinian workers who attempt to climb the wall to work inside Israel.
The Israeli army also raided Nablus, stormed the home of a Palestinian man it had killed earlier in the day, and caused several cases of suffocation among residents reportedly due to tear gas.
Eyewitnesses told Anadolu that an Israeli force entered the city and moved toward an area known as Khillet al-Amoud, where they surrounded the home of 24-year-old Mahmoud Akkad, whom the Palestinian Health Ministry had earlier confirmed was shot dead by Israeli forces near the city of Qalqilya in the northwestern West Bank.
Clashes erupted as Palestinians threw stones while Israeli troops responded with live fire, rubber bullets and tear gas, leading to several injuries, according to witnesses.
The Palestine Red Crescent said its crews treated 10 people who suffered tear gas inhalation.
At least 1,047 Palestinians have been killed and more than 10,000 injured in the West Bank by Israeli forces and illegal settlers since October 2023, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
In a landmark opinion last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
