Ukraine expands list of prohibited goods for import from Russia

Ukraine on Wednesday expanded economic sanctions against Russia, the country’s economic minister said on Wednesday.
Stepan Kubiv, Ukraine’s first deputy prime minister and minister of economic development and trade, said a decree to expand list of prohibited goods for import from Russia has been approved by the government.
Springs for freight cars, electrical equipment for railway automation and communication devices were included in the sanctions list, according to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine.
Imports of glass containers, including jars, bottles for food and beverages and containers are also included in the list of prohibited goods for import from Russia.
Russia and Ukraine have been at loggerheads since 2014, when Russia annexed Crimea after a controversial referendum.
The Kiev administration has put in place various economic restrictions on Moscow since 2014.
