Mongolia reports record 1,460 new COVID-19 cases

ANKARA

Mongolia on Thursday reported record 1,460 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the national tally to 70,482, an official said.

With 10 more virus-linked deaths, the overall fatality count rose to 348, a spokesperson from Mongolia’s Foreign Cooperation Division told Anadolu Agency. As many as 53,464 patients have recovered from the disease.

With a population of 3.35 million, the East Asian country has conducted 2.7 million coronavirus tests to date.

As many as 1.89 million people have received their first doses while nearly 1.6 million are fully vaccinated since late February.

“We bought Sputnik and Pfizer vaccines, while China donated Sinovac and India sent AstraZeneca under the framework of the COVAX program,” the official said.
