Oman, Bahrain report more coronavirus cases
COVID-19 cases surges beyond 2,000 in Oman, Bahrain records over 2,600 cases
MUSCAT, Oman / MANAMA, Bahrain
Health authorities in Oman and Bahrain confirmed Monday additional coronavirus cases.
In Oman, 51 more people infected with the COVID-19 virus were registered, raising the total to 2,049, including 10 deaths and 364 recoveries.
Also, Bahrain's Health Ministry recorded 24 cases, pushing the total to 2,647. Eight deaths and 1,189 recoveries were among total cases reported.
After originating in China last December, COVID-19 has spread to at least 185 countries and regions. Europe and the US are currently the worst-hit regions.
The pandemic has killed more than 206,800 worldwide, with total infections around 2.98 million, while almost 870,000 patients have recovered, according to figures compiled by the US-based Johns Hopkins University.
