Israel’s population reaches 9.7 million
Israel’s population projected to reach 11.1 million by 2030 and 13.2 million by 2040
JERUSALEM
Israel’s population reached 9.7 million by the end of 2022, according to the country’s Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) on Tuesday.
In a statement, CBS said the Jewish population reached 7.145 million while the Arab population hit 2.048 million, comprising 21 percent of the total population.
The figures also showed that Israel’s population has increased by around 2.3 percent (221,000 people) last year.
According to CBS, nearly 79,000 Jewish migrants arrived in Israel in 2022 from different parts of the world, bringing the total migrants who arrived in the country since Israel’s creation in 1948 to 3.3 million.
Israel’s population is projected to reach 11.1 million by 2030 and 13.2 million by 2040.
