The 60th Presidential Cycling Tour of Türkiye, the country’s only Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) ProSeries race, will begin Sunday in the resort city of Antalya and conclude May 4 in Izmir.

The race, which first started as the Marmara Tour in 1963 and gained international status under the Turkish presidency in 1965, has contributed to the development of cycling in Türkiye.

This year’s event will feature eight stages covering 1,153 kilometers (716 miles).

A total of 161 cyclists from 23 teams representing 13 countries across three continents are set to compete.

The peloton will include three WorldTour teams, 13 professional continental teams and seven continental teams.

Three Turkish teams — Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club, Spor Toto and Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club — will also participate.
